About Gelpro Fiberglass
My love of boats started at a very young age. I was 9 years old when my father took me on a long trip along the Illinois River from Alton to Starved Rock State Park. I lived on Lake Springfield in Central Illinois and found myself lucky enough to have my own boat at 14 years old. Attending Glenwood High School only 8 miles down the lake from my house, I was able to drive my boat to school when others were taking the bus! After graduation in 1977, I attended Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming to learn the automotive refinishing trade. Over the next 20 years, I worked for the most respected auto body shops in Springfield, Illinois.
In 1997, my wife Jan and I made the move to Osage Beach, Missouri to chase a dream of starting our own Marine fiberglass and gel coat repair business. It only seemed natural for us to be involved with boats and to live in the best location for what we enjoy—boating on Lake of the Ozarks. I have added my hobby of car restoration into a small side business called Gelpro Rod and Muscle, specializing in street rod and muscle car fabrication. I now have the best of both worlds—Gelpro Fiberglass & Gelpro Rod and Muscle.
